#Neveragain Trends As Ghanaians Remember Tragic May 9th

Exactly 19 years ago, the worst stadium disaster in Africa saw 127 Ghanaian football fans die in a stampede caused by the firing of teargas by police.

The stampede happened  following a decision by the referee in a crucial match between rivals Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
