Former Ghanaian international and now head coach of the Sudan national team Kwesi Appiah has stepped down as member of the GFA EXCO committee.
Kwesi Appiah’s temporary resignation comes at the back of the matches that are slated to take place between Ghana and Sudan.
According to reports, CAF wrote a letter to the football coach asking him to resign from one of his role as its conflicts the rules of CAF as well as FIFA.
Spokesperson of Kwesi Appiah, Asante Forkuo in statement wrote saying;
Coach Kwasi Appiah has temporarily stepped aside as an Executive Council member of the GFA until the end of November 2024. This decision, in response to the CAF communication copied to the GFA, was made to prevent any conflict of interest. Since the AFCON qualifiers began, Appiah has refrained from participating in all EXCO activities.
