Sonnie Badu’s music career manager who is also an ardent music and entertainment critic – Uncle Winifred has argued that one of Ghana’s most prolific song writers and revered musicians; Kofi Kinaata is an overhyped musician.
The artiste manager believes that Kofi Kinaata does not deserve to be called a star because he is a one way famed for just songs and nothing else.
To him, a music star must be someone who is versatile with his craft and not always dropping songs that tows the same lane.
Hence becoming a star takes a lot of work, attitude in public and alone plus many things Kofi Kinaata lacks.
He added that Kofi Kinaata’s songs have become one way with the same rhythm and story line just like Fameye and Bisa Kdei.
Speaking on one of the Accra based radio stations over the weekends, he said
It takes how you brand yourself, it takes how you project yourself outside. You see Sarkodie Project himself? If Sarkodie comes here and Kofi Kinaata also comes, who will have the masses following him? Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have the attitude, they’ve branded themselves but Kofi Kinaata hasn’t done same,
