Adom Fm presenter Afia Pokua, popularly known as ‘Vim Lady’, has come out strongly against single ladies always being asked the question: ‘when are you getting married?’.

According to Afia Pokuaa, there is no law or bible quotation forcing ladies to marry, so if they choose not to do so it is solely their business.

Vim Lady, speaking on Hitz Fm, also said women are always being asked that question but men of the same advanced age who don’t get married are not grilled that way.

“it’s a narrative we have to change, I think that every human being is competent enough on their own but I am concerned because they do that to women and they don’t do that to men,” she said.

“We tend to even forget that there is a divine force in charge of this world, there is a God who is sitting up there who controls the affairs of humans who said the heart of kings is in His hands. There are people who probably will never marry. The bible speaks about those people.

“They will never marry, the Bible says there are people who are eunuchs they will not marry, there are people who will marry and divorce and take the experiences like Paul and become people. There are people who will marry and be happy ever after. There are people who will be in between”. Vim Lady quoted from scripture to justify why ladies should be left to decide when to get married on their own terms.
