Veteran hiplife artiste, Jay Dee is back in the news, this time around, the Alampan hit singer was spotted somewhere around Rawlings park, Accra, selling skipping ropes.
For anyone who had ears in mid 2000, Alampan which was produced by Hammer of the Last Two records was a major hit back in the days. Almost every kid at the time jammed to the song.
However, much has not been heard from the performer behind the hit song within the last decade.
In 2019, reports emerged that Jay Dee had been under the influence of drugs as some suggested he was jailed in the states for allegedly defiling a minor after a photo of the musician surfaced online. But the claims were rubbished by Hammer who said it was rather a medical issue.
In a recent video chanced on by Gossips24.com, Hype Masters caught up with the veteran artiste at his selling point where he had a short interview with him about the current music industry.
Jay Dee was asked to name his top five(5) Ghanaian rappers where he mentioned Kwaw Kese, Reggie Rockstone, Lord Kenya, Obrafour, and himself leaving Ghana’s king of rap, Sarkodie, out of the list.
According to Jay Dee, he knows Sarkodie to be a fine rapper but he doesn’t qualify to be in his list of top five rappers in Ghana.
About his current state, Gossips24.com got in touch with source closer to Jay Dee who said the musician’s state is due to peer pressure… that’s all he can say for now.
