Two suspects have been arrested in relation with the murder of Azubuike Ekwegbalu, a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Security, Willie Obiano, by the Anambra state police.
The two suspects, Achewa Musa, 27, and Osita John, 21 have admitted to committing the crime. According to them, they stabbed Azubuike because of some cult related issues and made away with his phones.
Musa comes from Abinsel of Guma LGA of Benue State, but lives in Amansea Garki and John comes from Ifite ogwari in Ayamelum LGA of Anambra State but lives at Agu Awka.
43 year old Azubuike was stabbed on the 9th of August, 2020 at his house located inside the Commissioners’ quarters at Awka.
SP Haruna Mohammed confirmed the news on behalf of the State Police Command saying that investigations were launched after the murder and that is what has led to the arrest of the suspects. They are set to be sent to court after investigations are ripe.
The phones that they took and the knife they used for the gruesome act has been retrieved.
The Commissioner of Police, CP John Abang has sent out a warning to criminals that they will not find rest in Anambra state until they quit their activities or leave the state.
