A press statement released by the communication directorate of the jubilee house declares 7th December as a public holiday by H.E Akufo-Addo by the executive instrument.
The holiday is in line to help the facilitation of the conduct of the general elections in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.
Citing from a statement signed by the Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin, this decision was taken following the submission of a proposal to the President by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs Jean Mensa.
