At least, six (6) persons have been severely butchered after confusion confusion broke out at a rally of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally at Sung in the Karaga District of the Northern Region.
The rally was held at Sung which is a stronghold of the NPP where several persons were bused to the community amidst the display by motor riders clad in NDC t-shirts.
According to reports, the attacks were witnessed at Nyong and Karaga which left other victims seriously injured.
The injured have been transported to respond to treatment at a health facility in Karaga.
The Motor riders believed to be members of the NDC in a convoy, reportedly rode to an NPP pavilion sparking the confusion leading to the reprisal attacks after a known NPP member questioned the rationale behind their action.
This escalated the tension in the area with targeted persons attacked in their homes and left with fractures among others injured.
The injured have been identified as Zakaria Aminu, Sulemana Musah, Abdulai Aminu, Haruna Abdulai, Musah Abdul Razak and Tia Abdul Rahman.
