Election 2020: 2nd Position on Ballot Paper could mean Mahama’s ‘Second Defeat’ – Kweku Baako

After the successful balloting of positions for the presidential candidates of the political parties contesting  for the December Polls last Tuesday, the major political parties have started making meanings of these positions.

Whiles the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) picked the first position on the ballot, the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) settled for the second position on the ballot paper.

After the successful balloting last Tuesday, supporters of the two main parties for the December polls have made varied meanings from the various positions selected by their political parties.

Whilst the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) see their number one spot as an affirmation of a one touch victory, their main opponents in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) see their 2nd position as the second coming of their candidate, former President John Mahama.

However, season Journalist Mr. Kweku Baako, speaking on Peace Fm’s morning show, “Kokrokoo”, has questioned the NDC’s political mantra of “second coming of John Mahama”.

In response to the NDC’s assertion, he noted that, “the second position could represent a second  defeat for John Mahama”.
