A 27-year-old man, Shafiru Haruna has been arrested by Katsina state police command for killing his 14-year-old girlfriend.
According to the statement by the state police command, Gambo Isah says Haruna of the Dorawar Natiba, Birdigau village, Kankara LGA of Katsina state, allegedly killed the young girl who he claims to be his girlfriend in December 2019 over the ownership of her pregnancy.
In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to have taken the victim into the bush, strangled and smashed her head with a heavy stone, killing her instantly.
The police said the culprit will be prosecuted very soon.
