According to the Narcotics Control body at the Tema Port, they received a tip-off that a consignment of 50 containers that was departing Brazil to Ghana was likely to contain the illegal substance.
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) and the National Security Council who swiftly acted on the privy information they received impounded 152 kgs of cocaine disguised as sugar at the Tema Port.
They two bodies mounted surveillance on the shipment until the 152kgs of cocaine was finally intercepted.
Some deliberately unnamed persons have been arrested following the seizure of the illicit drug.
