11,000 applicants reject UDS’ admission

The vice-chancellor of University For Development Studies Professor Gabriel Ayum Teye has revealed that more than 11,000 applicants who gained admission to study various undergraduate programs at the university have rejected the offer.

This awful information became publicly known during the school’s 28th matriculation ceremony for the freshers.

According to him, out of the 16,763 applicants who were offered admission into UDS for the 2020-2021 academic year only 5,518 of them accepted the school’s admission.

He further added that out of 512 applicants admitted for postgraduate courses, only 355 enrolled.

In his own words;

Out of a total of 22,609 undergraduate and 939 postgraduate applications, 16,763 and 512 students respectively were admitted. However, only 5,518 undergraduates and 355 postgraduates accepted the offer

He additionally disclosed that the university has taken steps to establish additional campuses after losing its two campuses at Wa and Navrango.
