It’s no more an undeniable fact that Ghanaians are complaining of been broke because there are no jobs in the country making it difficult for them to get money in the system but never did we imagine that the brokenness level would affect prostitutes or commercial sex workers.
According to a Taxi driver, some of these prostitutes are broke to the extent that they can’t even pay for their taxi fares but rather try to pay with their bodies when they finally get to their destination.
Narrating his experience with one of them, he said after taking the prostitute to her final destination, he requested for his money but the lady opened the door and laid down on the back seat and asked him to fire her as fare since she had no money.
“I quickly parked the vehicle and she opened the door and laid down at the passenger’s seat with her legs wide open and a condom in her hand and I ordered her to get down from the car and drove off,” he said.
Another Taxi driver who had experienced a similar thing also confirmed the story and added that they(drivers) also service the ladies in return because they can’t waste their fuel and go back without money.
The Taxi Driver added: “That is what some of us have been going through and we cannot ask them to go away with the money just like that, they either have to pay in cash or in-kind for the fuel used.”
