“No more filming s3x scenes with male directors, it’s uncomfortable” – Hollywood actress, Kiera Knightley

Hollywood actress, Kiera Knightley has changed her stance on shooting nude and sex scenes.

The Aftermath, Star Wars, King Arthur, atonement and Pirates of the Caribbean actress says she will no longer do any nude or sex scenes if the director is male.

“It’s partly vanity and also it’s the male gaze,” she told the Chanel Connects podcast.

“I feel very uncomfortable now trying to portray the male gaze.”

According to her, while she understands that some directors need “somebody to look hot” for their film’s sex scene, that’s just not her anymore.

“I don’t want it to be that kind of, ugh, those horrible sex scenes where you’re all greased up and everybody’s grunting,” she added. “I’m not interested in doing that.”

According to her, she understands that some films do benefit artistically from sharing a nude or sex experience but it’s not an experience that suits her at this point in her life.

You can use somebody else,” she explained.

“Because I’m too vain and the body has had two children now and I’d just rather not stand in front of a group of men naked.”

“If I was making a story that was about that journey of motherhood and body [acceptance],” I feel that might be different.

But, “I feel like, I’m sorry, but that would have to be with a female filmmaker. I don’t have an absolute ban, but I kind of do with men,” the actress explained.

She went on to add, “I’m really happy with my body. It’s done an amazing thing. But I also don’t want to stand there in front of a whole film crew.”

Knightley has done fully nude sex scenes before, and with male directors.

Back in March last year she said she has no regrets about the choices she’s the previous made, telling The Financial Times, “I never did anything that I didn’t feel comfortable doing.”
