Former Ghana Blackstars player who is now a coach for a division one side in Denmark, Michael Essien, has thrown his weight behind the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana after Akuffo Addo ordered for the movement’s office in Accra to be shut down.
In a new post that has been sighted on his IG page, the soccer star stressed that Ghana supports equality, hence the voice of the LGBT must also be heard.
He wrote;
We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana #ghanasupportequality 🇬🇭🤝🏿
Meanwhile, the sitting president, Nana Addo has emphatically stated that Ghana will not recognize LGBTQ+ rights under his tenure in the office of the presidency.
