‘I Didn’t Stage My Attack’ – Jussie Smollett Cries Out As He Apologizes To Empire Set
Jussie Smollett has apologized to the Empire set shortly after he was released on bail. The actor is said to have been bailed in tune of $100k as police insist he staged his attack for a pay rise.On leaving the court room, the actor had to dodge a mob, but cars and news choppers still followed his movement.
The Empire set members waited patiently for him to show up and shoot his scene. When he did, he begged them and told them he never did what he’s being accused of. “I’m sorry I’ve put you all through this and not answered any calls. I wanted to say I’m sorry and, you know me, I would never do this to any of you, you are my family. I swear to God, I did not do this”, Jussie Smollett said.
However, his lawyer believes he has the right to be seen as innocent until proven guilty.“Like any other citizen, Mr. Smollett enjoys the presumption of innocence, particularly when there has been an investigation like this one where information, both true and false, has been repeatedly leaked.” He went on to state that they intend on mounting an aggressive defence for Jussie Smollett. “Given these circumstances, we intend to conduct a thorough investigation and to mount an aggressive defense.”
Jussie Smollett has been arrested for staging an attack on himself and filing a false police report, but Tyler Perry says he’s had a word with Jussie and the Empire actor insists he’s telling the truth about being attacked.
Sharing a photo collage of Jussie Smollet and two missing men – Terrance Williams and Felipe Santos – to Instagram, Tyler Perry wrote: How I wish that the disappearance of Terrance Williams and Felipe Santos could get half as much attention as this Jussie Smollett thing. I have personally spoken to Jussie, and he is adamant that he’s telling the truth. Also, everyone that I know who knows him says that he is not the kind of person who would make up such a horrible and awful thing.
