Desmond Kwesi Blackmore is a Ghanaian born rap artiste who has secured for himself a place among Ghana’s finest rap elites. The old-hand Hiphop/Hiplife artiste who performs under the stage name D-black is also a music producer and an entrepreneur who owns a conglomerate.
Early Career Life
Born on January 12 1986 , D-black formerly known as (Da Ghana Bwouy) began his music career with (Ghana boys) a music duo which consisted of himself and Kweku T . The two pierced into the Ghanaian mainstream media with their first stirring hit single dubbed “Target Practise“. After garnering massive attention in the showbiz industry with their aforementioned hit single; the music duo proceeded to release other thrilling singles -most notable among these bangers were (Move and Breathe, After the success) and several ground-breaking songs. After these successes, he officially became a soloist in 2010.
Businesses And Ambassadorial Roles
D-black is currently the United Nations Celebrity Ambassador to Ghana. He is also the official promoter and a share holder of Black sun beverages. In 2013, the celebrated rap genius served as the brand ambassador for the RLG Brand of VIVA phones in the sub regions of West Africa.
Aside all these Ambassadorial roles, Dblack is also the chief executive officer of a popular night club in the Accra Metropolis called Club Onyx which is just 3 minutes drive away from the presidential residence.

His popular hit songs such as; (personal and seihor which featured Castro, vera , My kinda girl and many other metaphorically hot bangers were has topped both local and international music charts.

Since the inception of his career, the rap maestro has collaborated with prominent African musicians such as (Caspper Nyovest , Buffalo Souljah from Zimbabwe, Cameron’s Stanley Enow, Fally Pupa from Congo, Tanzania’s Vanessa Mdeve not forgetting BET inductees (Stonebwoy and Sarkodie). He has signalled to be featuring renowned musicians on his forthcoming third studio album dubbed “LIGHTWORK”.
