Samira Bawumia is a Ghanaian Politician, Philanthropist, and the Second Lady of the Republic of Ghana. She was born to a politician, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, the National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), and Hajia Ayesha Ramadan.

Samira Bawumia is the current second lady of Ghana. Samira was born on August 20, 1980, She is 40 years of age. She is the only of her parents, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, and Hajia Ayesha Ramadan. The father was the National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and also a veteran Ghanaian banker and politician who retired from active politics in the year 2015.

She had her early education at Ansawarudeen Islamic School at Fadama, Accra, and Akosombo Internationational School. Samira attended Mfantsiman Senior High School for her secondary education.

She obtained a Bachelor Of Arts degree from the Kwame Nkrumah University Of Technology and a Master’s degree in Project Management from Ghana Institute of Management of Public Administration (GIMPA) where she graduated as the top student of her class.

The second lady of Ghana is the founder of Samira Empowerment and Humanitarian Projects, an organization that focuses on the Country’s health, Gender parity, Women Empowerment, and Entrepreneurial Development.
In 2016, She boldly campaign against corruption and inefficient management of state resources.

She became an ambassador for the Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves where she joins former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, actor Julia Roberts, and singer Rocky Dawuni to work with the Alliance. Samira was also acknowledged in 2019 as the first of seven individuals honored by Sustainable Energy for All (SEforAll).
