The King of Akyem Abuakwa, His majesty Osagyefuo Amotia Ofori Panin, was born Odeshie Kwame Boakye Ofori Atta on October 10, 1952, to Nana Yaw Boakye and Odehye Abena Akoto. Okyenhene is the 35th King to have ascended the throne referred to as Ofori Panin Stool. He ascended on 4th October 1999.
Okyehene Education
Okyenhene started his basic education at Akwatia Cast Primary School and furthered to Abuakwa State College for his secondary education.
He then gained his sixth form at the College of Further Studies, Oxford University. He proceeded to the USA where he pursued Political Science and Public Administration.
Okyehene Career
Osagyefo has been a strong advocate of environmental protection. His desire for environmental sustainability has compelled him to establish the Okyeman Environmental Foundation.
Nana has been active in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS and in supporting formal education for children of school age and the establishment of a tertiary educational institution to produce professionals to help preserve the environment for a positive impact on Ghana as a whole.
He has also established the University of Agriculture and Environmental Studies- UCAES.
