Ahead of Eid-el-Maulud festival to be marked on Thursday, October 29 by Muslims in Nigeria and other parts of the world, President Buhari has revealed how fragile Nigeria is to go into another COVID-19 lockdown phase.
He has therefore appealed to citizens to make sure the covid case count are kept low so that a second wave will be avoided.
He said; “Looking at the trends in the other countries, we must do all we can to avert the second wave of the pandemic. We must make sure that our cases, which have gone down, do not rise again. Our economy is too fragile to bear another round of lockdown”.
President Buhari encouraged citizens to exhibit the virtues of Prophet Mohammed through by showing love, patience, kindness and more towards each other while pleading with the youth as well to stop the violence.
He also repeated his promise to bring to book looters and police men responsible for the mayhem in the country.
