A Ghanaian police officer has admitted to killing a security guard at the Aqua Safari Resort in the Eastern region.
Lance Corporal Philip Addo of the Akropong Division handed himself over to the police saying accidentally shot the security guard.
According to the police officer, while on night patrol duty at the area, the security guard identified as Stephen Adu was asleep.
In an attempt to wake Stephen Adu, the police officer said, his AK 47 accidentally discharged.
Stephen Adu died upon arriving at the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
Police discovered gunshot wounds and back shoulder.
