The prime suspect involved in the murder of the late Professor Yaw Benneh, James Nana Womba’s mother recounts her last moment with her son in police custody.
John Nana Womba died at the Police Hospital on Saturday after a short illness.
His mum Talata Nona said she only saw her son last Monday with no signs of sickness and gave him money.
“I was only informed by my son’s girlfriend (One Veronica) that Womba was unwell. I was told that somebody gave him fried rice. I think the fried rice might have been contaminated. My son might have been killed through food or some people were after his life.”
Madam Nona added that Womba was the breadwinner of the family who did lots of jobs to cater for the family.
Womba is accused of being part of three others who murdered Professor Yaw Benneh at his residence in Adjiriganor.
