A female student of the Lagos State Polytechnic has gone missing shortly after calling her father on the phone to ask for help.
Identified as Shalewa Adebowale, the 19-year-old nursing student reportedly left her parents’ house at Olorulogbo, Anthony village, Lagos, on October 10, 2020, to sit for an exam.
After the exams, she purportedly chose to pass the night at a cousin’s place in Igando.
Shalewa Adebowale then left her cousin’s house on October 11, to board a transport at Checkpoint bus stop, LASU Road, on the way to Iyana Ipaja. Her whereabouts has been obscure from that point forward.
Speaking on the incident, her sister Feyikemi said that the last time they heard from her was around 7.09pm on October 11, when she called their father asking for help.
“She told him that she was dying and that she needed help . We reported the case at the Anthony and Ikeja police stations . The officers at both stations did not take the case seriously and they are slow with the investigation.” Fayikemi said.
In the interim, spokesperson of the State Police Command, Muyiwa Adejobi, who affirmed the report, implored the family concerning the missing student to meet the Personal Assistant to the Commissioner of Police and furthermore advised them to go to the State Intelligence Bureau.
