Legendary Ghanaian Highlife musician and prolific songwriter; Gyedu-Blay Ambolley has opined that Kofi Kinaata is the only performer to be doing authentic Ghanain music which is the Highlife genre, Gossips24.com reports.
The veteran composer bashed young acts who have refused to push the Highlife genre by adopting foreign genres such as Dancehall, Hip- Hop etc.
According to Ambolley, several budding music artists claim to be Highlife musicians but if you study their songs carefully it’s clear that they don’t have any indigenous touch in their pieces.
If you take Kofi Kinaata, when he sings you can see that there’s a kind of locality in there and when he is rapping, too you can see the locality
As suggested by Ambolley, his observations have made him arrive at the conclusion that Kofi Kinaata is the only artiste promoting the Ghanaian culture through music
