Former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Bice Osei Kuffour, aka Obour, who is an aspirant in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary primaries in the Asante Akyem South Constituency, has said he is optimistic of a win.
Prior to the elections, he once told Kwame Sefa Kai on Peace Fm’s “KOKROKOO” that
“I think I am winning because I have what it takes to win and I know I can do the job,” Obour said boldly.
Obour was one of four contestants seeking to oust the incumbent MP, Mr. Kwaku Asante Boateng, who is pursuing a third term bid.
Other contestants were Mr Edmund Oppong Peprah, Mr Eric Amofa and Mr William Yamoah.
Ever since Obour declared his intentions of contesting as a parliamentarian on the ticket of the NPP party: some political figures, including Kwabena Boateng Asante, popularly known as KB, threw his weight behind him.
Compeers in the music industry including Criss Waddle and D-black also counselled the constituents in his constituency not to vote for him because he’s incompetent: citing his term as president of MUSIGA
Obour has emerged as the winner with 417 votes representing 65% of the total votes cast.
