Reports making round indicates that retired professional footballer Samuel Eto’o paid a total of about €1.37m to get Brazilian star Ronaldinho released from prison in Paraguay.

Recall Ronaldinho was arrested in Paraguay alongside his brother for entering the country with fake passports.

The 2005 Ballon d’Or winner and former Barcelona star were being kept at Asuncion prison after a court in Paraguay refused his bail and rejected appeals for house arrest.
