Ghanaian rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known as Sarkodie has revealed the one thing that Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyonce did for him that he will never forget.

Though Sarkodie and Shatta Wale have both been on the rough path lately shading and throwing subtle jabs at each other, the rapper has never downplayed the dancehall musician’s efforts for the industry.

Sarkodie in a recent interview with revealed that Shatta’s feature with Beyonce bagged him an Afrobeat contract with a certain company that was in dilemma over the relevance of the music genre.

According to the rapper, the company was dragging its feet on sealing the contract with him. But they hastily inked the deal with him after Shatta Wale’s feature with Beyonce which was an Afrobeats song dropped the same week.

He said the song sent a message to the company that the ‘Afrobeats’ genre is big and surprisingly, Sarkodie noted that the deal which was delayed got signed.

“So I was out of the country to sign a deal which was dragging for days. I had the deal with some white people. The same week Beyonce released her song with Shatta Wale and after that, the people who were dragging their feet signed the deal for me,” He told Dentaa.

He believes Shatta’s collaboration has done him – Sark – more good that he should be grateful of.
