On Sunday, March 15, 2020, President Akufo Addo declared a public ban on all social gatherings and all activities that are likely to cause the spread of the fear-striking coronavirus.

However, one popular activity has failed to be regulated or adhere to the president’s caution as leaders turn a blind eye on the damage it can cause – the NIA registration.

Do you know that the National Identification Authority (NIA), is still registering people for the Ghana card? Anyone who has gone through the process will tell you it is full of contacts and it risks the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

In a Twitter post chanced on by Gossips24.com, the registration is still ongoing in certain parts of the Eastern Region and officials have raised concerns but NIA seems to be unconcerned.

Applicants are believed to be the most vulnerable because all of them would eventually end up using the same device to scan their fingers.

It is very obvious this activity would cause more harm than good should an individual with the virus come into contact with any of the devices or mingle with the crowd that gathers at any of the points of registration.

Well, Ghanaians have also shared their thoughts on the tweet that drew our attention to the ongoing process.

Check out the post below:
