Dancehall King, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known as Shatta Wale has reacted to the latest signing of Nigerian celebrities by Adonko – a Ghanaian company.
Earlier, Gossips24.com reported on Ini Edo, Jim Iyke, Victor AD and others who were signed as brand ambassadors of Adonko.
The signing of Nigerian celebrities by Adonko was one that was forced down the throat of Adonko by the FDA due to some of its regulations that public figures such as actors and musicians, among other celebrities cannot be used as brand ambassadors or advertise for alcoholic beverages.
According to Shatta Wale, the mentality behind FDA’s regulations is that they consider musicians as “a great influence to minors” because Ghanaian musicians behave like children.
The dancehall artiste in a series of tweets further congratulated the Nigerian celebrities on one hand and bashed Ghanaian musicians and the FDA on the other as he lamented bitterly.
He also stated in his tweet that he is a Nigerian and for that matter, he is eligible to advertise for any alcoholic beverage, hence Adonko should consider signing him also.
He wrote; “Congrats to all my naija brothers and celebs on their Adonko deal ..Infact Adonko pls come and sign me cuz am also a nigerian ,my name is shatta Ike chwuku wale ..Thank you”
