Ghanaian Musicians Are Not Lazy At All, They Are Hardworking – Paydae of R2Bees

Frontliner of R2Bees Music, Omar Sterling, better known as Paydae, has revealed Ghanaian artistes are doing more than enough to put Ghana on the map.

According to Paydae in an interview with Bola Ray on Starr Chat, Ghanaians should stop comparing local arts to Nigerian artists.

He revealed that Ghanaian artistes are doing more than enough, in his view, Ghana’s music industry lacks investors, thus, the artist carries his cross all by himself, unlike in Nigeria where a wealthy man can invest all his cash in industry.

GH musicians are not lazy at all, we are very hardworking, and it’s just a matter of time; there is no structure here in our music industry, no investors unlike in Nigeria. In Nigeria, one big man can invest directly in your craft, but this doesn’t happen here in Ghana. We do everything by ourselves, it’s not easy at all, but we will continue to keep pushing.

He also added that comparing Ghana to Nigeria is the sole reason why Ghanaians don’t see the efforts their artistes put in their crafts.

Nigeria is huge, Comparison is making Ghanaians feel our GH musicians are not going anywhere. Take Nigeria out, and you would realize GH musicians are actually putting in the work. Just look at the population of Nigeria- very huge, just look at how Nigerians have been able to spread to other parts of the World.

He further disclosed that they as a group, R2bees make lots of money from online streaming of their songs, and that’s why they don’t worry themselves to be on every show.

On Starr Chat with Bola Ray, he said,

Bola, you know something? R2bess, we don’t really care about shows, performance gigs naa, when it comes our way, fine, we would go and play but forcing ourselves to be on every stage is a no-no for us

He continued,

We make lots of money from online streams, we have crazy numbers when it comes to online streams, and so we are comfortable with the money that comes from the streaming of our songs on this streaming platforms. To everyone that goes to stream our songs, we are soo grateful. Musicians out there should take streaming very serious. Pae dae said.
