Underfire Black Stars Coach, James Kwesi Appiah has finally spoken after the Black Stars disappointing 2-2 draw against Benin, describing the outcome of the game as a good one.
Black Stars were welcomed into the AFCON 2019 tournament by Benin on Tuesday night with which ended in a 2-2 draw in Ismailia.
Though many Ghanaians are disappointed, Coach Kwesi Appiah says his side did well to pull that result since they were down by a man.
John Boye’s red card in the 54th minute of the game saw Benin equalize, turning what seemed like a 2-1 victory into 2-2 draw.
However, speaking on the game, coach Kwesi Appiah said the red card conditioned the result and in that vein, he sees the 2-2 as a reasonable final score.
He took the opportunity to assure Ghanaians that the next game will be a better one for the Black Stars – FINGER CROSSED!
“It was a good game, we didn’t concentrate in the first half,” Appiah said in his post-match presser….In the second half, it was hard to play with 10 players, a draw is reasonable…..I didn’t lose hope in my team…wait for us in the next game.”
