The final burial rites for Nhyira Marfo Okyere, a member of the Ghanaian music band Team Eternity Ghana, will be held on September 14, 2024, in Accra. This was announced by the deceased’s uncle, Mr. Eric Mante, during the one-week observation service on August 17, 2024.
The one-week observation of Nhyira did not witness the presence of any top artists from the gospel fraternity or key members of Team Eternity Ghana. The solemn observation service, which took place at the late singer’s mother’s house in Madina, Accra, was attended by family and friends of the late singer. The final burial rites for Nhyira, as she’s affectionately called, will take place at the God’s Tabernacle of Praise Ministry in Madina.
Members of the God’s Tabernacle of Praise Choir, of which Nhyira Marfo Okyere was a member, were also present to offer renditions of some Christian songs in honor of the late singer. The late singer’s death on August 7, 2024, drew a lot of controversies, with some alluding to her death as suspected food poisoning. However, the family, in a press release on August 15, 2024, rubbished the speculations, urging the public to accord the family some privacy in these trying times.
A book of condolences has since been opened in honor of the late Nhyira Marfo Okyere, who was the youngest of 4 siblings.
