THE unfortunate happened at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA 2019) which led to the interesting event becoming a boring one, kind courtesy Ghana’s reggae/dancehall giants, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.
VGMA 2019 wasn’t all that successful as organizers failed to announce winners of two important categories since they were involved in a scandal at the DOME, on May 19th 2019.
The winners of the Vodafone most popular song of the year and Artiste of the year weren’t announced on the night.
The announcement according to CharterHouse, organizers of the event, will be made at a press conference within the week.
According to Kwame Sefa Kayi who was the host for the 20th edition of the Vodafon Ghana Music Award, the winners of both categories were the same artistes, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale who brought the event to a halt after Stone pulled a gun at the venue.
In several reports and video sighted by Gossips24.com, there is a hint that Stonebwoy was to be crowned the artiste of the year, whereas his fiercest rival, Shatta Wale, won the Vodafone Most Popular song of the year with My Level.
We believe the organizer’s decision was a tangible one since the unexpected happened as soon as Stonebwoy was name the dancehall artiste of the year, for the fifth consecutive time since 2015.
Kessben FM morning show host, Omanhene Yaw Adu Boakye has also confirmed that reliable source has confirmed to him that Stonebwoy indeed is the Artist of the year and Shatta Wale is the winner of the Most Popular Song of the year.
We will keep our readers posted once the official announcement is made.
