The fight against illegal mining popularly known as galamsey has now become very thorough and vigorous after Ghanaian youths mounted pressure on the government to take bold steps against the activity because all our water bodies have been destroyed due to such act.
In a new video that has surfaced on the local digital space, 8 excavators reportedly belonging to the National women’s organiser of the New Patriotic Party(NPP), Kate Gyamfua were all set in flames.
Commentary surrounding the whole saga also purports that the 8 excavators burnt were part of about 20 machines that have been destroyed in the operation by the ant-galamsey task force in two weeks.
At the moment, all the galamsey sites in the following towns in the Eastern Region, Larbikrom, Dompem and Pamen have all been shattered by the Anti-galamsey task force.
