three persons have been arrested for allegedly killing an Aeronautic Engineer for Africa World Airline (AWA) by the Akim Oda Police.
The deceased, Prince Kwabena Kumi was killed on April 1, 2018, at Akyem Asuboa in the Eastern Region.
The suspects are Joseph Kwasi Effah otherwise known as Kwasi Tailor, Kwabena Akwaah, 45, and Kwasi Bosompem Mensah, 58.
Starr FM reports that they are all members of the local community watchdog committee.
Kwasi Tailor, the prime suspect, reportedly admitted to fatally shooting the late Aeronautic Engineer with his “locally made single barrel gun.”
Tailor told investigators that they mistook Kumi for a pig and shot him leading to his death. They, however, abandoned the body when they realised that they killed a human being out of fear. Prosecutors put the suspects before the Oda Magistrate Court on Tuesday, April 20, 2021.
The court remanded them into police custody. Kumi’s body was discovered with gunshot wounds after a search by his family. They had gone days without hearing from him. An autopsy conducted on the body confirmed he was shot at close range.
