One of Winners Chapel clerics has been jailed for stealing the church’s $101,800. This unfortunate incident happened in Nigeria after he failed to return the funds which he has “chopped”.
Pastor Afolabi Samuel, a pastor of the Living Faith Church, aka Winners’ Chapel has been sentenced to three years in imprisonment , for stealing $90,000 and N4.5m which belonged to the registered trustees of the church totaling $101,800.
Samuel who is the church treasurer was arraigned on two counts of conspiracy and stealing before Justice Mojisola Dada, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The pastor was accused of conspiring with one Blessing Kolawole, an employee of the Covenant University who is currently on the run, to steal and convert the monies for their personal use.
