Following the demise of the former President of the Republic of Ghana, Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings, his families wish that his body will be interred in his hometown, Keta, Volta Region.
According to the families, it is their wish that government will agree to bury their late kinsman in Keta. To them, that would be an appropriate thing to do.
The plea was put across by Mr. Paul Badu, a representative of Rawlings’ families namely Agbotui, Nyaho, and Husunu, while speaking to the media after the death of the former President.
Although there has not been an official response to this plea from government, the President has promised a state burial for the late Rawlings.
Mr. Rawlings died after a short illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on Thursday, November 12.
