Ogun State Police command has arrested a 20-year old suspected ritual killer for allegedly murdering a 12-year-old boy in the capital of Oyo State, Ibadan.
Festus Simon, 20, the suspected killer had absconded from Ibadan to Sagamu but was arrested on Wednesday, November 4, in Sagamu when the police received a tip-off that he was there.
DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi spoke on behalf of the Ogun Police.
He said;
“The suspect, who killed his victim on October 31, 2020, fled his residence at Iyana Church area of Iwo Road, Ibadan, to the Simawa area of Ogun State under the pretext of looking for a job in order to evade police arrest.
“Information further revealed that the suspect had been on the wanted list of the Oyo State Police Command in connection with the killing of an innocent 12-year-old boy and his accomplice has since been arrested.
“Upon the information, the DPO, Sotubo Division, SP Samuel Adefolalu, quickly led his detectives to his hiding place, where he was promptly arrested.”
He also added that the suspect has been given to Oyo State Police for further transfer.
He also relayed that criminals will not be comfortable in Ogun state.
